Vintage Stringed Instruments
We source and sell vintage high end and affordable stringed instruments. We also carry a range of amps, pedals and accessories for sale.
Consignment
If you have an interesting instrument, amplifier, guitar pedal, or similar for sale, and are interested in consigning, please talk to us about options.
Consignment rate of 20% + GST
Valuations
We are happy to provide written valuations to confirm the current market value of your instrument(s).
No cost if you consign.
Consignment
Contact us to discuss how we might be able to help you value and consign your instrument for sale.
If you decide to proceed with consignment, CVG will research current values and work with you to arrive at an agreed sale price.
At this point we will draw up a contract that protects both you and CVG (see our policy section for more detail). We then list your instrument on our website and promote it to our client contact list.
When your instrument sells, we pay you 80% of the sale price and CVG retains a commission of 20% + GST (GST is added on = 22%). See our policy section for more detail and GST considerations
Electric Instruments
We specialise in vintage gear but always try to carry a wide range of affordable electric instruments as well. If you are looking for something in particular, contact us as we may have something on our books that hasn't been posted yet.
Acoustic Instruments
We will always have acoustic instruments of some form in the shop. This includes guitars, mandolins, resonators, banjos, ukes.. and from time to time, more unusual gear. Contact us if you are looking for something specific.

Vintage Guitar and Gear Valuations
We are vintage guitar enthusiasts and are always interested in helping others understand the value, detail and history of their stringed instruments and accessories.
We are happy to provide free preliminary evaluations for individual instruments and collections that are to be consigned, however if you are just curious about what your instrument might be worth we do provide a costed service as well.
The process is simple and usually takes a coffee type conversation with us followed by research prior to a contract consignment.The instrument is only sold in conversations with you, and only once permission is granted. Capital Vintage Guitars works on a 20% commission, and the balance is transferred to you.
